Early Film Photography

35mm film photography became an emerging creative endeavor of mine in 2016. Having studied and taught English, I am interested in how pictures function as texts. Additionally, photographs have a distinct ability to frame and tell stories about specific people and places within a defined space. Due to these beliefs, I am most drawn to landscape, portrait, and street photography art forms. I believe the ability to pair a specific set of camera settings with a film to yield unique tones, textures, and imperfections, distinct from digital photography, allows for richer variation in the telling of any given story.
